“The Columbia, a family-run hotel since 1975, offers a unique stay with its Victorian architecture and spacious common areas. Its location overlooking Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, coupled with the convenience of being dog-friendly and near Lancaster Gate Tube station, makes it a practical choice. The Columbia benefits from a superb location, right opposite Hyde Park and within a short walk to Kensington Palace. Many guests appreciate the spacious rooms, particularly noting room 325 and the quadruples. While some have found the bathrooms a bit tired, the hotel's proximity to Lancaster Gate metro, Paddington Station, and attractions like Westfield Shopping Centre and Oxford Street makes it a convenient base for exploring London.

Charming Stay Near Hyde Park

comfortable bed great space
I loved the proximity to Kensington Gardens. The hotel is a short walk to many restaurants. I found the bed very comfortable, perfect after a long day. I also appreciated having lots of space in the room.
The room's interior design felt quite dated. The carpet was a bit overwhelming for my taste. The banging of wind against the window woke me a few times one night.
Service
9/10
The staff members were attentive, helpful, and very friendly. They willingly addressed all my inquiries and provided directions to local attractions. The kitchen staff accommodated my request for a dietary meal.
Rooms
8/10
My room included necessary amenities such as tea, coffee, and a hairdryer. The hot water in the shower was consistent. I liked that housekeeping attended to the room daily. The fresh linens were crisp.
Location
10/10
The hotel is directly across from Hyde Park, offering easy access to green space. Multiple bus stops are close. This made getting around easy. The underground station is also within a short walk.

The staff was super helpful, i appreciated that. the quad room was spacious. Family loved it. crisp clean bedding was a plus.
The floors creaked in the corridors, it was noisy. it's very old and dated. There's need for some major internal decoration and repair. i noticed the breakfast was very weak. It was below all standards.
